The Nora Sweater Junior (EN) is a charming children’s sweater featuring a Nordic-inspired colorwork yoke and a relaxed fit. Knitted seamlessly in the round from the top down, it uses raglan increases and German short rows at both the yoke and the lower back. This creates a comfortable fit, a slightly higher neckline, and a subtly longer back for extra warmth and style.


The design allows for approx. 14 cm (5.5") of positive ease, ensuring plenty of movement for active kids. Available in sizes 1½ (2) 3–4 (5–6) 7–8 (9–10) 11–12 years, the finished chest measurements range from 64 to 92 cm (25¼–36¼"). Body length varies from 31 cm to 49 cm depending on the size, and sleeve length (including cuff) from 21 cm to 36 cm.


The sweater is knitted in Trio by Navia (50 g = 120 m / 131 yd) or Peruvian by Filcolana (50 g = 100 m / 109 yd). Approximate yarn requirements for Trio: 180 (180) 250 (250) 300 (350) 350 g. For Peruvian: 200 (200) 260 (260) 310 (360) 360 g. Color distribution is typically 150–310 g in the main color and 30–40 g in contrast color.


The gauge is 17 sts × 22 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4") in stockinette and colorwork on 5.5 mm needles after washing and blocking. If your colorwork tension differs from your stockinette stitch, adjust needle size accordingly. Suggested needles: 4 mm, 4.5 mm, and 5.5 mm circular needles (various lengths), using Magic Loop or double-pointed needles for sleeves.


The sweater includes a folded neckline, detailed stranded colorwork, and a comfortable ribbed hem and cuffs. Techniques include raglan shaping, German short rows, and elastic bind-off for a neat finish. Knitlidt

Mit navn er Camilla Grady, og jeg er en 24-årig lærerstuderende, strikke- og kaffe-entusiast, som udvikler strikkeopskrifter i min fritid. Som halv-amerikaner og dansker med færøsk afstamning, er jeg lidt af en kulturel cocktail, hvilket mit strik også bærer præg af. Derfor valgte jeg navnet Knitlidt (strik lidt eller knit a bit), da det er en blanding af mine to modersmål: engelsk og dansk. Mange af mine opskrifter er inspireret af den færøske strikkekultur bl.a. ”Katrin”, ”Nora” og ”Siri".
