The pattern includes two sizes with adjustable length, making it easy to customize the fit. The gauge is 22 stitches x 35 rows in stockinette on 3.0 mm needles. Yarn options include 40–50 g Einband from Istex (50 g = 250 m) held with 30–40 g silk mohair, or about 100–125 g sock yarn such as Knitamore hand-dyed sock merino (100 g = 266 m), Viking Alpaca Storm, Alpaca Soxx 6-ply, or Alpakka Forte. The result is a pair of warm, soft and durable socks, perfect for autumn comfort and handmade elegance.

Uddybende information

Sille Socks is a beautiful sock design by Knitamore that combines slip stitch knitting and classic cables in a rustic and cozy look. The socks are designed for warmth and comfort, making them ideal for autumn and winter, when handmade knitwear feels especially luxurious. The pattern offers both texture and rhythm in the knitting process, making it fun and rewarding whether you are an experienced knitter or want to challenge yourself with a structured design.

The socks are knitted from the cuff down with an Italian cast-on for an elastic start, followed by ribbing that flows into the striking combination of slip stitches and cables. The heel is shaped using short rows, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit. The foot continues in a mix of stockinette and pattern, and the toe is completed with decreases and grafted with the Kitchener stitch for a neat finish.

The pattern includes two sizes, designed to fit a foot circumference of approximately 19.5–20 cm in size 1 and 23–23.5 cm in size 2. The length is fully adjustable, which means you can knit a smaller size for a slimmer foot and simply extend the length, or knit a larger size for wider feet and shorten the length as needed. The socks are meant to be knitted with a slight negative ease of 1–2 cm to ensure a good fit, though they can also be made roomier if used as cozy house socks.

The recommended gauge is 22 stitches and 35 rows in stockinette stitch on 3.0 mm needles, giving 10 x 10 cm. The socks are worked on double-pointed needles or with the magic loop technique using 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm needles.

You can choose between several yarn combinations. One option is approximately 40–50 g Einband from Istex (50 g = 250 m) held together with 30–40 g silk mohair such as Silkhair from Lana Grossa (25 g = 210 m). Alternatively, you can knit with 100–125 g of a single strand sock yarn such as Knitamore hand-dyed sock merino (100 g = 266 m), Viking Alpaca Storm (50 g = 133 m), Alpaca Soxx 6-ply from Lang Yarns (150 g = 390 m) or Alpakka Forte from Dale Garn (50 g = 133 m).

The yardage per 50 g varies depending on yarn choice, from 133 m in Alpaca Storm or Alpakka Forte to 250 m in Einband. This allows you to tailor both look and feel of the finished socks, from rustic Icelandic wool with airy mohair softness to durable and smooth merino blends.

Sille Socks offers both coziness and elegance in one design. With its cables, slip stitches and structured fit, it is a pattern that results in socks you will reach for again and again, whether for yourself or as a thoughtful handmade gift.

Lidt om

Knitamore

“Knitamore” er en sammensætning af engelsk og italiensk, som betyder henholdsvis strik og kærlighed, og Knitamore er netop blevet til på grund af min store romance med garn og strikkepinde. Jeg lærte at strikke da jeg gik i dagpleje, og har haft pinde i hænderne og duften af uld i næsen hele mit liv. Jeg designer strik af ren lyst og ud fra hjertet, og jeg følger ingen regler. Mine bedste idéer gør jeg mit yderste for at realisere.
