Semilla Sweater (EN)

The Semilla Sweater is a beautifully crafted design by Axelknit, featuring a relaxed fit, soft texture, and a clean two-color stripe pattern. The sweater is worked top-down with raglan increases, giving it a comfortable and flattering shape across all sizes from XXS–5XL. With a recommended positive ease of approx. 20 cm, the sweater achieves its signature relaxed and modern look.
It is knitted using Semilla Melange BOTS from BC Garn, a soft and lightweight yarn with a yardage of 175 m per 50 g. You will need 250 (250) 250 (250–300) 300 (350) 350 (350–400) 400 (450) g for the main color and 50 (50) 50 (50–100) 100 (100) 150 (150) 150–200 (200) g for the stripe color. The yarn’s even structure and softness make it ideal for everyday sweaters with a timeless look.
Worked primarily in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles, the sweater also features rib sections on 3.5 mm needles. The gauge is 22 sts × 28 rows per 10 × 10 cm, ensuring a balanced fabric and consistent shaping. The neckline is folded and joined before short rows raise the back of the neck for improved comfort and fit.
Once the yoke is complete, the sleeves are placed on hold, and the body is knitted in the round. The characteristic stripe sequence—2 rounds in contrast color followed by 6 rounds in main color—adds a subtle yet modern detail. The finished length ranges from 56–67 cm depending on size.
The sleeves are knitted in the round with shaping decreases and finished with a neat double-rib cuff, matching the hem and neckline.
