The skirt is crocheted directly onto the bottom edge using double crochet (DC) rows and is expanded through circular increases.
Soft, silk or nylon tulle is then added by hand in strips (ranging from 40–110 cm in length depending on size) to create a full, ballerina-like skirt that falls just below the knees. The sleeves are made using shorter tulle pieces, looped through the straps for a delicate ruffled look.
