About this Pattern

Silva Sweater by KnitAmore is a thick, soft, and woolly sweater designed for chilly seasons and everyday comfort. With its timeless silhouette and cozy feel, this sweater is perfect for woodland walks, cold winter days, and relaxed moments at home. The design is simple, easy, and quick to knit, while still featuring thoughtful details that elevate the finished garment.

Silva Sweater is worked from the top down using a classic raglan construction, making it completely seamless and easy to adjust in length as you knit. The sweater begins with a high ribbed turtleneck that provides warmth and a snug, comfortable fit around the neck. From there, the yoke is worked in stockinette stitch with regular raglan increases. The raglan panels themselves are worked in rib and continue down the body, forming distinctive vertical ribbed side panels that give the sweater its signature look.

The sweater is primarily knitted on 5.5 mm needles, with the neck and ribbed edges worked on 5.0 mm needles. Silva Sweater is designed to be knitted with two strands held together: Peruvian Highland Wool from Filcolana or Lima from Drops, combined with Silk Mohair, for example from Lana Grossa. This yarn combination results in a warm yet lightweight sweater with a soft texture and a subtle play of colors.

Peruvian Highland Wool and Lima both have a yardage of 100 meters per 50 g, while Silk Mohair has a yardage of 210 meters per 25 g, which equals 420 meters per 50 g.

Silva Sweater is available in sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) and is designed with approximately 7–15 cm of positive ease. The finished bust circumference measures 91 (96) 105 (112) 118 (128) cm, while the body length measured mid-back without the turtleneck is 48 (50) 51 (53) 55 (58) cm.

The gauge for Silva Sweater is 16 stitches x 21 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm on 5.5 mm needles. Silva Sweater is an ideal project for knitters looking for a warm, wearable sweater with a clean design and beautiful structural details.

Knitamore

“Knitamore” is a combination of English and Italian, meaning knit and love respectively, and Knitamore was created because of my great romance with yarn and knitting needles. I learned to knit when I was in daycare, and I have had needles in my hands and the scent of wool in my nose all my life. I design knitwear purely out of passion and from the heart, and I follow no rules. I do my very best to bring my best ideas to life.
