About this Pattern

Siri Mittens (Siri Luffer) by Knitlidt are a pair of unisex mittens perfect for autumn and winter. Siri Mittens feature a floral pattern and are inspired by one of the many traditional Faroese patterns found in the book "Faroese Knitting Patterns" (Original Title: Førosk Bindingarmynstur) by Hans M. Debes (1932). The mittens can be knitted in three different sizes: 1 (2) 3. Note: If the mittens are knitted in 100% wool, they will felt and shrink with regular use, and if they are knitted in sock yarn, they will stretch with regular use. You can use yarn such as Arwetta Classic from Filcolana or Cash Sock from Gepard Garn. You will need a size 3 needle.

Meet

Knitlidt

My name is Camilla Grady, and I am a 24-year-old student teacher, knitting and coffee enthusiast, who develops knitting patterns in my spare time. As a half-American and Dane with Faroese heritage, I am something of a cultural cocktail, which is also reflected in my knitting. That is why I chose the name Knitlidt ("strik lidt" or "knit a bit"), as it is a blend of my two mother tongues: English and Danish. Many of my patterns are inspired by Faroese knitting culture, including “Katrin,” “Nora,” and “Siri.”
