About this Pattern

Winter Rose Sweater by KnitAmore is a beautifully textured and feminine sweater defined by its striking cable patterns. The cables are an essential part of the design and appear at the neckline, along the raglan lines, on the body, and at the cuffs of the sleeves. These decorative elements not only shape the overall look of the sweater but also contribute to its fit and structure.

The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down using raglan construction. The neckline is knitted first, where the cable motifs gradually grow wider, creating a soft and elegant transition into the yoke. The raglan lines themselves are formed as cables, adding depth and visual interest while framing the shoulders in a flattering way.

After completing the yoke, the cable patterns on the front, back, and sleeves are paused, while the raglan cables continue. The body is worked in stockinette stitch and framed by two vertical cable panels running along each side from neckline to hem. The sweater is finished with a twisted rib hem, which provides structure and a neat, polished edge.

The sleeves are knitted straight down in stockinette stitch and finished with cable cuffs that mirror the design details found throughout the sweater. This creates a cohesive and balanced look from top to bottom.

Winter Rose Sweater is designed with a recommended positive ease of approximately 6–16 cm, resulting in a comfortable fit that feels both cozy and refined. The width of the cable patterns varies depending on size to ensure consistent proportions and an elegant silhouette across all sizes.

The sweater can be knitted using Plötulopi by Ístex or Nutiden by Höner och Eir, both combined with a strand of silk mohair or alpaca. This yarn combination creates a lightweight yet warm fabric with a soft halo and excellent stitch definition, perfectly highlighting the cable work.

Winter Rose Sweater is available in sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) and is well suited for experienced knitters who enjoy detailed cable patterns and thoughtful garment construction.

Knitamore

“Knitamore” is a combination of English and Italian, meaning knit and love respectively, and Knitamore was created because of my great romance with yarn and knitting needles. I learned to knit when I was in daycare, and I have had needles in my hands and the scent of wool in my nose all my life. I design knitwear purely out of passion and from the heart, and I follow no rules. I do my very best to bring my best ideas to life.
