Hul Blusen by Dorte Bak Knitting is a light and airy raglan sweater worked top-down in a beautiful staggered eyelet pattern balanced by stockinette stripes. The sweater begins with a ribbed neckline and features wide raglan shaping that adds structure to the otherwise delicate lace design. It is knitted on 5.5 mm needles using Peruvian from Filcolana held together with a strand of silk mohair, or alternatively in Amira from Lang Yarns for a softer cotton version. With a gauge of 15 stitches and 20 rows per 10 cm, the fabric becomes open, breathable and elegant. The design includes 10–20 cm of positive ease for a relaxed and comfortable fit and is available in sizes XS to XL. Sleeves and body are shaped with carefully placed decreases, and the rib edges are finished using the bind-off technique best suited to the chosen yarn. A playful yet classic sweater with beautiful texture.

Uddybende information

Hul Blusen, designed by Dorte Bak Knitting, is an airy and modern sweater featuring a repeating eyelet pattern that is visually balanced by stockinette stripes. These stockinette sections give the garment structure while allowing the lace texture to shine. Worked top-down, the sweater begins with a classic ribbed neckband before transitioning into a wide raglan yoke that creates a bold yet elegant silhouette. The eyelet pattern shifts by one stitch for each pattern round, forming a beautiful staggered and slightly slanted arrangement that gives the blouse its characteristic expression. The design is playful, feminine and highly versatile, suiting both muted colour palettes and bold, expressive shades.

Hul Blusen is intended to be worn with 10–20 cm of positive ease, ensuring a relaxed and comfortable fit that drapes effortlessly. Available in sizes XS to XL with chest measurements from 95 to 130 cm and lengths from 47 to 51 cm, the sweater accommodates a wide range of body types. The fabric is light yet warm, making it suitable for year-round wear depending on yarn choice.

The sweater is knitted on 5.5 mm needles for the main body and sleeves, with 4 mm needles used for ribbing. With a gauge of 15 stitches and 20 rows per 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch, the result is an airy structure that showcases the eyelet pattern beautifully. The recommended yarns allow for several stylistic variations. One option is Peruvian from Filcolana, a soft and durable 100% wool yarn with 100 m per 50 g, held together with one strand of silk mohair such as Tilia, Kid Seta or Silk Mohair, each offering 210 m per 25 g. The combination creates a warm, fluffy texture with excellent stitch definition. For a lighter and more summery version, the sweater can be knitted in Amira from Lang Yarns, a cotton-rich yarn with a soft, cloudlike structure and 100 m per 50 g. Yarn usage varies from 350 to 450 g of the main yarn and 85–125 g of silk mohair depending on size. Running length per 50 g follows the listed yarn specifications.

After working the raglan yoke, the sleeves are placed on hold and the body is knitted in the round following the established eyelet pattern. Before the final rib edge, decreases are worked to shape the hem. The recommended bind-off method depends on yarn choice: Italian bind-off is ideal for wool, while elastic or classic bind-offs work best for cotton blends. The sleeves are shaped with decreases placed carefully within the stockinette stripes, ensuring a slim and flattering fit toward the wrist. The final result is a modern, stylish sweater with a light feel and elegant details, ideal for both everyday wear and special occasions.

Dorte Bak
