About this Pattern
Novice Dress (Novice Kjole) by Knitlidt is a beginner-friendly and quickly knitted dress. The dress is knitted top-down with raglan increases on the yoke. The dress is close-fitting, falls nicely along the body, and is very elastic. It has a negative ease of 40 cm. This means that if your bust circumference measures 80 cm, you should knit a size M. The dress has side slits, which make it more airy and provide freedom of movement. If you prefer a looser dress, you can go up one size in relation to the dress's bust circumference. You can also adjust the length according to the different sizes and knit it either longer or shorter. Note: yarn consumption increases if the dress is knitted longer or in a larger size. You can use Cool Wool Lace from Lana Grossa together with Setasuri from Lana Grossa. On needle sizes 8 and 12.
My name is Camilla Grady, and I am a 24-year-old student teacher, knitting and coffee enthusiast, who develops knitting patterns in my spare time. As a half-American and Dane with Faroese heritage, I am something of a cultural cocktail, which is also reflected in my knitting. That is why I chose the name Knitlidt ("strik lidt" or "knit a bit"), as it is a blend of my two mother tongues: English and Danish. Many of my patterns are inspired by Faroese knitting culture, including “Katrin,” “Nora,” and “Siri.”
