Uddybende information
The Twiddle Sweater is a beautiful and airy knit designed by Dorte Bak, combining a classic silhouette with playful details in the form of knitted popcorn bobbles. It is worked top-down, allowing you to try it on as you go and adjust both width and length to your preference. Featuring a boat neckline, voluminous balloon sleeves, and a relaxed fit, it is perfect for layering and can be worn all year round — whether paired with dresses, trousers, or skirts.
The sweater is knitted using three strands of silk mohair held together, creating a light, fluffy, and slightly sheer texture. The pattern recommends the following yarns: Kid Seta by Gepard Garn or Tilia by Filcolana (25g = 212 m), or Lace by Lang Yarns (25g = 310 m). Total yardage depends on the chosen size — for example, size M uses approx. 225 g of Kid Seta or 150–175 g of Lace. Held triple, Kid Seta yields approx. 70.7 m per 25g, which corresponds to 141.4 m per 50g. The gauge is 14 stitches per 10 cm on 5.5 mm needles.
Available in eight sizes: (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL, the bust circumference ranges from 96 cm to 147 cm, and the length varies from 48 cm to 68 cm depending on the size. The design includes 7–18 cm of positive ease; it is recommended to choose a size based on your actual bust measurement — with more ease for sizes XS–L and less for sizes XL–4XL.
The Twiddle Sweater features classic raglan increases and allows for modifications as you go. Popcorn bobbles can be placed as you like, adding a decorative and whimsical touch. Ribbed edges (2x2 rib) on the neckline, hem, and cuffs provide elasticity and a neat finish.
The sweater is knitted on 5 mm and 5.5 mm circular needles (preferably 80 cm), with 5 mm double-pointed needles for the sleeve cuffs — or alternatively using magic loop. German short rows are used to shape the back of the neck for a better fit.
The Twiddle Sweater is the perfect project if you're looking for a feminine, breathable knit with room for customization — a true wardrobe favorite in the making.
