This zodiac-inspired design combines traditional Icelandic knitting heritage with modern details, making it both unique and timeless. The sweater is worked from the bottom up, with both the body and sleeves knitted in the round before being joined together for the stunning colorwork yoke, which features the Cancer zodiac motif. The fit is slightly slim with a shorter body length, giving the sweater a contemporary look.

The pattern uses Ístex Léttlopi, a classic Icelandic yarn spun from 100% pure new wool. Each 50 g skein has a yardage of 100 meters, giving a running length of 200 m per 100 g or 100 m per 50 g. Léttlopi is known for its warmth, lightness, and durability, making it the ideal choice for Icelandic lopapeysa sweaters. The yarn requirement varies depending on size, ranging from 7 skeins for the smallest size to 17 skeins for the largest. Knitter from Iceland

I learned to knit at age 6 and fell in love right away. Over the years I’ve mostly focused on traditional Icelandic Wool sweaters (lopapeysa). After a burnout in 2023, knitting became my therapy. I couldn't decide which patterns to knit, so I decided to try and make my own. The process made me feel alive again, and that’s why I haven't stopped since. My inspiration comes from colors, nature, and even music or memories.
