Kelda Sweater (EN)
Om Kelda Sweater (EN)
Kelda is a classic Icelandic lopapeysa designed by Rakel from Lopamunstur, combining traditional Nordic colorwork with a modern, slim-fitting shape. The sweater is knitted in the round from the bottom up using Istex Álafosslopi, a bulky Icelandic wool that provides exceptional warmth and durability. Kelda is worked with 6 mm and 7 mm needles, with ribbed edges on smaller needles and body, sleeves, and yoke on larger needles.
The design features a beautifully structured colorwork yoke and comes in a wide size range from XXS to 5XL. With a slightly shorter body length and a close fit, Kelda offers a contemporary look while staying true to classic Icelandic knitting traditions. This pattern is well suited for knitters who enjoy stranded colorwork and working with authentic wool yarns.
