Uddybende information
Bysse Jacket – Bella No is a beautiful and modern knitted jacket, designed by renowned Norwegian designer Tove Lindtein. The jacket has an exclusive look with elegant wide stripes that create a trendy yet timeless appearance. With its soft texture and slightly fluffy finish, it’s perfect as a transitional piece or for adding a touch of luxury to your everyday wardrobe.
The jacket is knitted using Bella by Permin, composed of 75% mohair, 20% wool, and 5% polyamide. This yarn is known for its luxurious feel and lightweight quality. With a yardage of 145 meters per 50 grams, it offers both warmth and breathability. For the distinctive stripes, Gelato by Lana Grossa is used – a yarn made of 52% cotton and 48% recycled polyamide with a yardage of 80 meters per 100 grams. The combination of Bella and Gelato gives the jacket an exciting texture and a beautiful contrast between soft fluffiness and more structured elements.
Bysse Jacket is worked with two strands of Bella (main color) and one strand of Gelato (for the stripes). The base color is white, while the stripes add a playful and elegant detail to the design. The project begins at the bottom and is worked upwards. The body is knitted back and forth on a circular needle, and then divided into front and back pieces at the armholes. The entire garment is worked using double yarn, except for the stripes, which are worked with a single strand of Gelato. The front pieces are shaped with a classic V-neckline, and the shoulders are sewn together at the end. The sleeves are worked top-down in the round, making it easy to adjust their length as needed.
Sizes range from XS to XL, with a bust measurement of 100 (110) 119 (129) 140 cm and a total length of approx. 57 (58) 59 (61) 61 cm. The sleeves measure approx. 45 cm, but can be easily adjusted. Recommended needles are circular needles 8 mm and 10 mm (40 and 80 cm), as well as double-pointed needles 8 mm. The gauge is 9 stitches and 14 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on needle size 10 mm. It is crucial to check your gauge to ensure the best results.
Yarn usage depends on the size: approximately 250 (300) 350 (400) 400 g of Bella for the main color and 100 (100) 100 (200) 200 g of Gelato for the stripes. The jacket is knitted in stockinette stitch with edges in rib (1 knit, 1 purl), giving it a clean and classic finish.
Bysse Jacket is an ideal project for the experienced knitter who enjoys working with luxurious yarns and wants to create a professional and wearable result. It’s a jacket that fits seamlessly into everyday life as well as special occasions – easy to style, lovely to wear, and truly eye-catching. A new mohair-and-cotton wardrobe favorite you’ll love to knit and wear again and again.
